Rooted in the South Bronx of the early 70′s, Hip-Hop became the voice of an underprivileged generation, promoting Peace and Love through music and dance. Today, Hip-Hop has exploded into a world-wide culture that includes four elements: break dancing, DJ’ing, artistic expression (graffiti), and MC’ing. In a fast-paced and fun session, students will learn Hip-Hop dance, emphasizing choreography without much of the physicality of break dancing. This upbeat class, taught by Jimmy “Jem J” Morin, combines Hip-Hop technique and choreography with no suggestive lyrics or movements. Students will develop coordination, rhythm, flexibility, self-expression and confidence through dance. Jinan offers both beginning and intermediate classes for ages five to adult.
